I'm a parent - how do I use Brick for my child?

Edited

While Brick is designed as an opt-in tool to help adults and kids manage distractions, some parents have successfully used it to encourage healthier phone habits in their children. We can’t guarantee results, but here are a few tips to help make Brick more effective as a parental control tool:

1. Turn on Strict Mode

Strict Mode prevents the Brick app from being deleted while it’s not activated. You can toggle it on in Brick Settings when Brick is deactivated.

2. Use All Emergency Unbricks

Brick includes 5 Emergency Unbricks that instantly unlock the phone in case of emergencies. Some parents choose to use all five upfront to remove this option.

To do this: Activate Brick → go to Settings → tap Use an Emergency Unbrick → repeat five times.

3. Block the Settings App

You can use this shortcut to block the Settings app while Brick is active. This helps prevent changes to Screen Time or device settings.

Note: This will block all of Settings, including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth controls.
