Brick won’t activate? Step-by-step fix

Edited

Please confirm that you see a “Ready to Scan” popup when you tap the center icon on the Brick app.

If not, Brick is having trouble syncing with iOS. Please follow the steps below and tap the center Brick icon after each step:

  1. Force quit the Brick app and reopen it

  2. Restart your device

  3. Make sure the Brick app is updated to the latest version

Check for any available iOS updates

If yes, please try tapping the top back part of your phone when scanning. This is where the NFC reader is located and adjusting the position might solve the problem.

If it still doesn’t scan, we’ll need to do a quick check using a free app called NFC Tools. You can download it here from the App Store. Once installed, tap ‘Read’ and try scanning your Brick.

Once you’ve done so, please email hello@getbrick.app with the following information.

  • Does NFC Tools successfully scan the Brick?

  • Under the ‘Writable’ section, do you see a section labeled ‘Record 1 - Text’?
